Androscoggin Bank is working with the City of Lewiston to receive direct donations and ensure their distribution to needs related to this tragedy.
Maine Credit Union League
Local credit unions are working together, and funds will be used to get food in the hands of those in need. These funds will support food costs for local restaurants (who do this because they feel strongly it is the right thing to do – they would want us to share that!).
Maine Community Foundation
MaineCF has established two distinct ways to give through the Lewiston-Auburn Area Response Fund. The Victims & Families Fund will support the families of people killed, those injured, and individuals who were present at the time of the shootings in Lewiston who may have experienced trauma. The Broad Recovery Efforts & Organizations Fund will support nonprofit organizations addressing current and emerging needs and helping with the recovery process associated with the shootings.
Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Foundation
The LA Metro Chamber Foundation will use funds to support losses experienced by small business closures and coordinate with existing funds.
United Way Androscoggin County
Will be supporting community partners, including 211 Maine and others providing mental health services, crisis support, and additional critical needs.
Central Maine Medical Center
The Central Maine Medical Center Compassionate Care Fund for Trauma Response and Support has been established after the Lewiston mass shooting tragedy. Email email@example.com for more information.
Lewiston Deaf Access Fund
Maine’s Deaf community deserves full access to the upcoming funerals following the Lewiston shootings, but funds for ASL interpreters are still needed. The Maine and Massachusetts Councils of Churches are partnering to create the Lewiston Deaf Access Fund to meet the need of Maine’s Deaf community.
