Resilience Fund

About the Fund

The One Lewiston Resiliency Fund is a collaboration between the City of Lewiston and the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. The Fund is guided by a committee representative of the communities impacted by the events of October 25, 2023.

The purpose of the committee is to steward the donations of the One Lewiston Resilience Fund to support the long term healing for our community and economy.

The Vision: All those impacted by the events of October 25, 2023 have the opportunity to engage and inform the remembrance events and the permanent memorial, and that the journey for creating the memorial is as healing as the memorial itself.

Fund Financial History

The fund was created by the City of Lewiston and the Lewiston Auburn Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Foundation in February of 2024 in response to donors’ desire to contribute financially after direct victim-survivor funds were closed, for the purpose of stewarding the donations to support the long-term healing of Lewiston-Auburn and the local economy. The fund is administered through a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Lewiston and the LA Metro Chamber Foundation. The fund is not actively fundraising, though it does continue to receive donations from time to time. It continues to support commemoration events and plan for community engagement in the creation of a permanent memorial.

The fund’s Memorandum of Understanding specifies that the LA Metro Chamber Foundation receive an administrative fee amounting to 6% of donations and provide the following services for this fee: receiving donations, maintaining and managing online donation platforms, providing donor acknowledgments, providing timely payments as requested by the Steering Committee, and completing all necessary reporting to City, Steering Committee, and the IRS.

As of December 31, 2025, the fund has $234,982.92 and has expensed $59,378.00 for two commemoration events, interpretation services, and committee administration and support.
