Event Purpose
Event Schedule
The program will include music, performances, and remarks, sharing information about the development of a permanent memorial. Attendees are invited to bring small items, messages, or keepsakes to commemorate this milestone. Objects left will be preserved and cataloged as part of the Maine MILL Memorial Collection. Some items may be displayed in future exhibits at the museum or as part of the permanent memorial. Additional information or stories are welcome to be shared with Maine MILL.

Accessibility and Accommodations
- Quiet Reflection Space: A quiet space for reflection will be provided, free of media, with resources from partner organizations to support attendees.
- Children’s Area: A viewing and activity area will be available, supported by the Lewiston Recreation Department. Parents are required to remain with their children. This space will also be media-free.
- Therapists on Hand: Therapists will be available during the event as a resource.
- ASL Interpretation & Accessibility: The event will be live-streamed with ASL interpretation and closed captions. Braille or large print programs are available upon request. Ushers who are capable of communicating through ASL will be wearing an “I-SIGN’ badge so that they can be easily identified.
- Accessibility Ushers: Ushers will be onsite to assist with welcoming and seating attendees who require wheelchair access or other accommodations. Anyone in a wheelchair should enter through the wheelchair accessible entrance (Colisee Box Office Entrance, lower parking lot).
Media
- Media Presence: Members of the media will be covering this event; however, no live reporting will occur during the moment(s) of silence. All reporters have been informed ahead of time that no interviews are to take place before, during, or after the event.
- Media Restrictions: Media will be confined to a designated section and will not be permitted to roam throughout the venue. This ensures that the commemoration space remains respectful and undisturbed.
- Photographers and Videographers: Event photographers and videographers will be onsite, capturing moments to commemorate the event.
Security
- Security Measures: For the safety and well-being of all attendees, security personnel and a police presence will be onsite throughout the event. All bags will be checked, and everyone will be wanded upon arrival. Please cooperate with any instructions from security staff and law enforcement to ensure a safe and respectful environment for everyone. Only police officers will be armed, as a strict no-weapons policy will be enforced.
- Prohibited Items: The following is a list of items prohibited from The Colisee.
- Outside food & beverages including unopened bottles and cans
- Empty beverage containers
- Coolers
- Chains and spiked jewelry
- Weapons
- Laser Pointers
- Illegal Substances
- Animals (excluding service animals)
- Beach balls and inflatables
- Fireworks
- Backpacks
- Signs with sticks
- Confetti and Silly String
- Folding chairs
Shuttle Service
To accommodate all attendees, a complimentary shuttle service will be available to and from the event. Shuttles will run between the Southern Gateway and Oak Street (Park Street) Parking Garages to the Colisée starting at 4:00 PM and will continue until after the event ends.
Love Always Wins Installation - October 2024
In collaboration with the City of Lewiston and the LA Metro Chamber of Commerce, Maine MILL will install the Love Always Wins sign (formerly located at Schmengees Bar & Grille) at Raymond Park for the month of October.
We encourage the community to leave items of remembrance by the sign, which will be archived and cataloged by Maine MILL. These items may be included in future exhibits or as part of the permanent memorial.
